WAPB was established to address the dual challenges of conflict and gender inequality Started in Wajir County and now working all over the country. The organization operates under the auspices of the Wajir Peace and Development Agency (WPDA), a respected entity with a legacy of over two decades in peacebuilding and with a mission to foster peace, advance gender equality, and advocate for human rights. Formation of WAPB underscores a profound belief in the pivotal role of women and girls as agents of change, essential for achieving lasting peace and social justice. WAPB has strategically positioned itself to integrate gender perspectives into peacebuilding efforts and champion the rights and active participation of women and girls in peace processes.
